APPG LUNCH MEETING
The Secretariat Committee to the APPG on Investment Fraud and Fairer Financial Services is hosting a working lunch meeting and invites professionals and stakeholders with an interest in financial fairness and consumer protection to attend.
Portcullis House
Monday, 31st March
1:15 PM – 2:30 PM
The APPG’s Purpose Statement is:
“To advocate for the victims of financial misconduct, crimes, scandals, frauds and regulatory failures, by driving positive, progressive, and purposeful reforms that achieve a fair, trusted and just system, where the service providers, regulators and government agencies provide appropriate protection and deliver good outcomes, including redress for historical wrongs.”
Whilst we recognise that your organisation has a different focus to the APPG’s, we hope there may be common interests around the theme of helping to ensure consumers are treated fairly by the financial services sector and the regulatory framework that governs it.
The meeting is to explore what those areas of common interests might be, if any.
I’m sure that one of the key talking points is whether the UK Government’s desires to stimulate economic growth through deregulation might be placing consumer protections in jeopardy.
It would be great to have you with us if possible – would you like a place?
Please let us know ASAP as we need to manage numbers quite tightly.
